Russischer Glamour – »Lustpraktik«? »Glückstechnik«?
Eine diskursanalytische Annäherung und ein Deutungsversuch
Katharina Klingseis
The article is about the effects of current Russian glamour culture on everyday attitudes and practices of the middle-class. Approaching the phenomenon from a discourse-analytical perspective, it raises the question about the role of the "spectacle" as a societal game or "performance" in the public space of Russian cities. It comes to the conclusion that glamorous practices are perceived and conceptualized in Russian discourse as an "armaments race" with expensive brands being utilized in everyday business interaction and pertaining leisure activities, as communicating and affirming social "status", and rarely also as part of a pleasure-affording social game of elegant performances.
